Shankland Cox won an international design competition for Etisalat’s new head office in Dubai.

Our proposal responded to the brief with a dramatic organic design exploting a stacked set of office floors surrounded by Etisalat’s trade mark “ golf ball “ housing communication equipment.. The office floors are embraced by a sweeping curved wall. The building was judged by Etisalat to embody the spirit of Dubai and make an important reference to Dubai’s maritime tradition.

A set of publicly accessible floors is incorporated in the design at the lower four floors.

Our services include full architectural design, interior design, quantity surveying and cost control, as well as mechanical & electrical design of all building services

SCL was invited to work in collaboration with the internationally acclaimed Architect Carlos Ott. Our scope of works included detailed design & supervision of construction. The design features a glazed cylinder stack of office floors pierced on one side by a full height services & circulation stack rising the full length of the building.

We also provided quantity surveying, full building design & engineering service.

We were commissioned by Etisalat to design a new office tower adjacent to their existing iconic building. The brief called for flexible open plan office spaces which could be adapted to a variety of configurations to suit the company’s changing needs.

Our design responded with a smooth external envelope of green anti-sun glazing, punctuated by polished granite service cores running the height of the building.

Care was taken to ensure consistency with Etisalat’s corporate requirement for high rise buildings, both in terms of internal layouts, internal and external finishes

Concept, detailed design, tender documentation and supervision for podium level landscape to an A-grade office complex located on the Burj Khalifa site. Features include circulation road and car parking areas, central pedestrian priority courtyard with VIP vehicular drop off areas, outdoor dining areas and function lawn. Each phase consists of 3 office buildings, grouped around a landscape courtyard space and shared surface areas. The landscape areas are located on level 3 of the development and linked by a 9m wide pedestrian land bridge.

Shankland Cox has developed the office terrace for Mr. Mohd. Al Abar, Chairman of Emaar. The Terrace is situated in the Burj Khalifa Business Square and is overlooking the Burj Khalifa, the Lake and the Dubai Mall

The Scope of work covers concept and detailed design of all hard and soft landscape works, landscape lighting, water features, tender documentation, contract administration and site supervision.

Shankland Cox Ltd. were appointed as Project Managers and Architect of Record for this unique building. The Concept was prepared by Zaha Hadid Architects in the UK.

This complex project required a high level of collaboration with Zaha Hadid Architects in London together with the specialist curtain walling contractor.

Shankland Cox played a priority role helping to ensure that Zaha Hadid's design intent was maintained.

Our brief for this prestigious 20 storey building was to produce a striking architectural design that reflected our client’s pre- eminence in the oil sector services field. Our design empha- sizes the corporate strength of NDC with a vertical stepped glass facade and is surrounded by an upper most floor pent house suite conceived as cylinder terminal feature.

Shankland Cox won an international design competition for the creation of a new head office building for the United Bank Limited in Pakistan. The design required a concept which would be iconic, transparent and flooded with natural light.

Our response to the brief was a uniquely dramatic design consisting of two triangular shaped towers connected by a soaring 20 storey atrium with bridges on various levels within the two structures. The intelligent and creative design thus ensures that the office staff has access to well lit spaces.

We were commissioned by a leading hotel development company in the UAE to design their new headquarters building. A distinctive and dramatic design was requested by the client. Our designers produce a compact 8 storey building with accrued corner facade treatment. This is broken dramatically with a full height atrium space placed on the diagonal to form a memorable entrance experience. The facade warps around the corner and is stopped short on a raking diagonal under which a smooth glazed “window wall” continues.

Shankland Cox Ltd, were appointed by Etisalat to design and supervise their first custom-built call centre in the UAE.

Further to an inclusive study tour in Europe & US, Shankland Cox and Etisalat prepared a detailed brief outlining the requirements for their first bespoke Call Centre in the emirates. It was important that the design would carefully consider and respond to all cultural and religious norms for a diverse work force operating 24 hours a day 7 days a week without fail.

Design services covered full architectural, structural, MEP and Landscaping discipline, from concept to detail, followed by site supervision of construction.
